Distance Learning Session with Web 2.0 Tools

Today I will be working with a dynamic group of educators over the distance learning network to showcase a collection of Web 2.0 tools. Specific tools we will be addressing during this hour long session include Blogger, Google Notebook, Google Reader, Google Sites, and Slideshare. These are the tools of choice this particular group of educators will be focusing on from the East Coast of Wisconsin. Within this post I have embedded key video links and quick start tutorials to showcase how these tools work and how you can use these for instructional purposes with educators and students.

I am also going to include a few alternative tools since their has been some hype of Google discontinue the development of Google Notebook. Mashables is an excellent website which provides updates and discussion threads of what is going in the Web 2.0 world relating to tools and resources for the classroom and business world. It also provides and extensive listing of free and open source solutions to alternative high cost programs.

Lastly- my all-time favorite Web 2.0 sites with over 1,000's of literacy tools to support instruction in the k-16 classroom.Go2Web20, Web Tools 4U2Use, and Cool Tools For Schools.

Have Fun!

Naomi
